On the second day of Oceanology Asia 2025 (OA 2025), the venue remained buzzing with immense popularity. A series of high-quality concurrent conferences also kicked off one after another, focusing on cutting-edge topics such as ROV/AUV/UUV, deep-sea renewable energy, deep-sea mining, and marine artificial intelligence. These forums offered new ideas and directions for industry development, drawing many professional attendees who filled the halls to capacity and engaged in dynamic interactions.

Professionals from nearly 20 countries and regions attended the event, including Australia, Germany, Russia, South Korea, Canada, Malaysia, the United States, Japan, Singapore, Italy, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, and China. Notable participating organizations included the East China Sea Development Research Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the South China Sea Marine and Island Center (South China Sea Standards, Metrology and Information Center) of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the First Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Laoshan National Laboratory, Shanghai Ocean University, Tongji University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and Power Construction Corporation of China. Their presence injected strong professional vitality into the exhibition, further highlighting OA 2025’s influence on the industry.

OA Concurrent Conferences: 2025 Frontier Forum on Intelligent and Digital Ocean Empowering Sustainable Development & Youth Forum

Hosted by Chinese National Committee of International Society for Digital Earth, this forum centered on the theme “Intelligent and Digital Ocean Empowering Sustainable Development, Marine Digital Intelligence Technology and Innovation”. Eighteen distinguished guests, includingDong Liang, Secretary General of Chinese National Committee of International Society for Digital Earth, Ge Chen, Director of the Digital Ocean Professional Committee of the Chinese National Committee for International Society for Digital Earth, and Xiaoming Li, President and Researcher of Aerospace Information Technology University, delivered keynote speeches focusing on Intelligent and Digital Ocean Empowering Sustainable Development, data sharing, and marine sustainable development.

 


OA Concurrent Conferences: The 2nd Deep-Sea Mining and Ocean Renewable Energy Integration Development Conference

Building on the success of its first edition, the 2nd Deep-Sea Mining and Ocean Renewable Energy Integration Development Conference further established itself as a professional, international exchange platform. Experts and professors from enterprises, renowned developers, universities, research institutes, and international classification societies in the fields of deep-sea mining and new energy gathered to share cutting-edge research outcomes, explore technological innovation pathways, and analyze industrial development trends.

 


A certificate presentation ceremony was held during the forum. Pengfei Qing, General Manager of Offshore Marine and Business Development at American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), awarded the Approval in Principle Certificate for Tri-Column Floating Offshore Wind Turbine (issued by DNV) to Sing-Kwan Lee, National Distinguished Expert of Marine Technology Innovation Center - Yangtze Delta.

 


ROV/AUV/UUV Technical Forum

Focusing on core areas such as deep-sea exploration, intelligent control, and system integration, this session facilitated technical exchanges, achievement transformation, and industry-academia-research-application collaborative innovation of cutting-edge equipment including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and underwater gliders. Guest representatives from research institutes, universities, and leading enterprises attended and delivered wonderful reports, including the Shenyang Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Technology Center of Laoshan National Laboratory, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Harbin Engineering University, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hohai University, Tianjin University, and Shandong Future Robotics Co., Ltd.
