Yunlu Cui-Chief Engineer of Detection Technology at the Marine Science Expedition Center of Sun Yat-sen University
Dear Ocean Technology Professionals,
Greetings! At this moment, I stand aboard the "Sun Yat-sen University" research vessel in the South China Sea, ready to embark on a month-long marine scientific expedition.
In recent years, China’s Marine Scientific Research has advanced with unprecedented momentum—swifter even than the monsoons that sweep the South China Sea. As our expeditions push deeper into the far reaches of the ocean, we have not only unlocked a wealth of critical data but also harnessed this progress to drive technological leaps and upgrades for key equipment such as deep submergence vehicles and large-scale research vessels. This journey has also expanded the diversity of expedition platforms, refined organizational structures and operational workflows toward greater standardization, and significantly elevated the overall capabilities of our field.
To further fuel collaboration and innovation in Marine Scientific Research, Oceanology Asia 2025(refer to OA 2025) is thrilled to launch a brand-new thematic forum dedicated to this discipline. It is my great honor to be appointed Chairmen of the [Marine Scientific Research Technical Forum] at OA 2025. I warmly invite you to join me in Shanghai from October 22 to 24, 2025, for an unparalleled celebration of marine technology—where we will unite to shape the future of global marine scientific exploration!

About Oceanology Asia 2025 & Concurrent Conferences
The Oceanology Asia 2025 will be hosted at the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing from October 22 to 24, 2025. This event is expected to gather over 200 exhibitors from the global marine industry and end-user sectors, alongside more than 5,000 experts, scholars, and representatives from leading marine technology organizations worldwide.
Concurrent with the OA 2025, over 10 high-caliber conferences will unfold—including the " The 2025 World Ocean Science and Technology Conference" & OA Plenary Session. Guided by the three core pillars of "Cutting-edge Technology × Deep-sea Applications × Green Development", the forums will feature eight specialized thematic tracks, spotlighting the latest trends and breakthroughs in the global marine industry. Distinguished thought leaders and innovators from across the globe will converge to share insights on frontier areas such as navigation and positioning, Ocean Observation & Measurement, ROV/AUV/UUV, Ocean Renewable Energy, marine mineral development, artificial intelligence, Marine Scientific Research, and the global expansion of domestic marine equipment. Attendees will gain exclusive access to in-depth analyses of current research outcomes, technological practice, and future development.
