The China-Brazil Deepwater Forum is crucial in enhancing communication and collaboration between the governments and businesses of China and Brazil, particularly in the oil and marine engineering sectors. It focuses on optimizing marine development and resource allocation, improving energy supply security, and fostering cooperation in marine energy projects. By promoting the effective use and sharing of marine resources, the forum aims to ensure mutual benefits and win-win development of the industry.
The last two sessions of the China-Brazil Deepwater Forum, held in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and Beijing in 2018, were highly successful. The China-Brazil Forum for Offshore Technology–2024 will lead experts from the industry, academia, and research sectors of both countries to engage in in-depth discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation.Key topics will include making full use of the 1% R&D investment policy, fostering research collaboration on climate change and energy technology innovation, and promoting the development of energy talents in both nations. In addition, with the G20 Summit 2024 set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, this year's forum will play a crucial role in preparing for the summit, marking a new era of China-Brazil deepwater cooperation.
